| Slightly setback from the village of Monteils, the villa is perfectly situated – equidistant from the sea and the mountains, surrounded by attractive villages and tourist sites : Uzès, Alès, Vézénobres, Anduze, Vallon Pont d’Arc, the strip of the Cévennes & its pretty village the Pont du Montvert, Uzès and its Duchy, a picturesque town which has preserved its historical past. It is a lovely place for a wander round its shady streets and squares. Uzès market, a real institution these days, takes place on Saturday morning: Place aux Herbes, in the heart of the town, under the arcades and along the boulevards. It is particularly lively and colourful. Alès is a pretty town, appreciated by tourists for its pedestrian streets and many fountains. There are numerous sites in and around the town worth visiting – the Mines which bear witness to Alès past industry, museums and grottoes, the crocodile farm as well as a variety of activities: potholing, bungy jumping, handgliding, go-karting, the Lac des Camboux watersports centre 10km away, climbing, accrobranch, all terrain biking, canoeing, hiking, horseriding and tennis. And don’t forget to visit the Cevennes National Park, part of Unesco’s world heritage. You’ll find details of these outings in the ‘Excursion Guide’ as well as a selection of good restaurants and locally produced wines. There are also brochures and maps in the villa when you arrive. |

| If your idea of a good holiday is peace and quiet in a rural setting listening to the chant of the cicadas, then you have to be prepared to drive for your shopping. 4km away at either Vézénobres or Saint Hilaire de Brethmas you’ll find bakeries, newsagents, a chemist, cafés and restaurants, grocery stores, doctors surgery….. Only 2 km away is a gastronomic restaurant “Les Voutins”. 7km for the closest supermarkets and 10km to a town centre. |

| Bright, spacious, and comfortable, the villa works very well for a holiday and is elegantly decorated with quality fittings. A landscaped garden 4500m² surrounds the house and incorporates a 5m x 10m pool. The kitchen and sitting room, as well as a wide corridor leading to the bedrooms & bathrooms, are all adjoining which makes them particularly light and roomy. Large, sliding glass doors in the sitting room open out onto a terrace where you can have your meals under the shade of the pergola. Views of the surrounding countryside and the pool, which has underwater lighting for nighttime bathing. The house is ideally suited to 2 families or friends who are looking for a peaceful and comfortable base from which to explore this superb area. Everyone can find his or her own space. The kitchen is of a high standard, with an American style fridge and there is a clothes dryer, iron and ironing board, and hoover, available for your use. The bedrooms, as well as some of the other rooms, are equipped with both ceiling or portable fans and mosquito nets. The rooms all have high ceilings. There are good sleeping arrangements for 10 adults and 2 children and a baby: 2 double beds (160 x 200cm) 2 double beds (140 x 190cm), 2 single beds (90 x 200cm), a sofa bed (140 x 190cm) and a cot. A playpen and a highchair (as good as new) are also available. Unlimited Internet access and wifi. Telephone (calls are detailed and billed at the end of your holiday). A LARGE 36m² GAMES ROOM with Chévillotte billiards (American and French) a proper baby football table, darts, mini hifi, children’s games and board games. There’s also a ping pong table outside under the trees. In the ‘mazet’, the small guesthouse on the other side of the pool, there is a 20m² area with sleeping for 2 people, a shower room with washbasin, shower & WC and a summer kitchen which allows a couple privacy while not being far from the villa and the pool. There is also a small summer sitting room under a covered terrace with views over the pool where you can sit quietly and read a book. The pool is treated using a salt electrolysis system and has an alarm. The entrance gate to the villa is electric with 2 remote controls. There is parking for 4 cars and a car port. Good quality gas barbecue. 3 televisions, one with a satellite dish proving international channels, DVD. High quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Table tennis, swings, game of boules ‘pétanque’, 8 sunloungers and 2 deckchairs, garden furniture….we can also have 3 bikes we can lend you (2 large, one small). If you wish to have the house cleaned and the sheets changed while you’re here, this can be arranged. A pool man will regularly clean and maintain the pool during your stay. Minimum stay: 7 days. In low season there is a special reduction for parties of less than 8 people as in that case we would not rent out the mazet. It would be locked for the duration of your stay. There is also a 10% discount for renting a second week during low season. |

| Payment conditions |
A rental agreement in duplicate with detailed description of the villa and general conditions. We will send this to you when you book and ask that you return the 2 copies to us with your signature and cheque for 30% of the total cost. We then sign and return a copy to you along with directions and a GPS code.
The balance is due a minimum of 8 weeks before your arrival. Either by bank transfer or cheque (if by transfer, we’ll give you our N° IBAN and all details will be specified on the contract, date of the transfer, amount etc).
We request a deposit of 1000 euros when you arrive, either in cash or 500€ cash & 500€ cheque which will be returned to you on your departure if there are no breakages or damage to the property. To date we haven’t had any particular problems. An inventory of each room will be carried out with you at the beginning and end of your stay.
Sheets and towels are included in the price. Beach towels can be rented on site. The final cleaning charge is compulsory and must be paid on arrival.
