| La Mazerie, a former winery built in the 18th century and extensively renovated since, is situated on a hilly plateau in the heart of Rosières vine growing area. It is a stylish house, with a provençal atmosphere and you will certainly enjoy relaxing by the large pool in the Mediterranean climate. Between the Ardèche Valley and the Cévennes, the house provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and for benefiting from the numerous activities on offer. The beauty of the Ardèche gorges takes your breath away in this wild, southern part of France. The canyons of the Ardèche and the Chassezac Gorges are very popular with those who love canoeing and kayaking. Cyclists, rock climbers, and hikers can all find their piece of paradise here – the landscape is amongst the most varied in the south of France. It is nature in its most pure form – there are villages from the Middle Ages, colourful markets, magnificent rock formations and sandy beaches along the rivers’ edge. |

| In Rosières, which is about 5 minutes drive, there is a supermarket, bakeries, a grocers, chemist, newsagents and tobacconist. You’ll enjoy going to the local markets which take place every day in one village or the other (check with the tourist office for details). |
| House/Flat description |
| You enter the property through an archway into a romantic courtyard which is paved and is partially covered with arcades. An outside stone staircase leads up to the south facing 15m² covered terrace, with its magnificent furniture, adjoining which is the sitting room with original terracotta tiled floor. This room, with its superb old Ardèchois fireplace, typically of the style with its comfortable corner seats, has views of the mezzanine and the ancient oak beams. It also serves as a dining room with its large rustic table seating 8 people. You can comfortably eat in the kitchen too. The provençal style kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with electric oven, microwave, large fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and a small table. On the same floor is a guest room with large French bed (1m80 x 2,00m) and a good sized bathroom with washbasin, WC, bath and shower. A large staircase leads to the upper level, which has wooden chestnut floors throughout, except in the bathroom. There are three comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed (2,00m x 2,00m), one with a French bed (1,40m x 2,00m) and the third with an old “boat bed” (lit bateau, 1,14m x 1,86m), and a bright bathroom with double basins in red granite, shower and WC. Also on this floor is the mezzanine, which has plenty of natural light and serves as a comfy television area (satellite TV) with views of the fireplace below. Also at your disposal is the pool complex, which comprises the pool, pool house and a mini bamboo forest, which is a beautifully shady spot. Teak sunloungers are available for the pool area, the garden, or the courtyard. There is a shaded parking area right next to the house and use of a washing machine and dryer. |

| Payment conditions |
50% on booking, the balance due 6 weeks before the start of the holiday. The owner requests a refundable deposit of 400 euros against breakages and damage when the keys are given. |
