Location and surroundings

Mérindol is a typical provençal village, located in one of the prettiest areas, the Luberon National Park. The northern slopes offer a variety of hearty walks, if you don’t mind the mistral, and in the south, the banks of the River Durance are a paradise for bird watchers. You can also discover the area on horseback. There’s a golf course 5km away. Aix-en-Provence to the south east and Avignon to the north west, both historical towns with great shopping, are only 45 minutes drive.

Shopping possibilities

Every day purchases can be made in the local village shops and there are several restaurants and a crêperie. The nearest markets are Mallemort and Cavaillon where you can stock up on seasonal produce - melons, vegetables, fish, fresh homemade bread. For a bigger shop, you can buy all essentials at the reasonably priced Intermarché supermarket in Mallemort. The historic towns of Arles, Nîmes and Aigues Mortes, full of culture and gastronomic delights, are definitely worth visiting and for all you nature lovers, don’t forget the Camargue. How about a day at the beach? Cassis and Les Lecques are about an hour away.

House/Flat description

The house is provençal style, has neighbours on one side only and its own private parking. Situated in a private estate with swimming pool (open from mid June to mid September or, if weather permits, from the beginning of June to the end of September) two tennis court and exterior lighting. The pool and courts are strictly for use by the residents only who are a mix of permanent residents and holidaymakers. On the ground floor is a good-sized sitting room with Swedish wood burner for those cooler days, a lovely bedroom, bathroom with WC, a separate WC with washbasin, and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher, and large fridge with freezer compartment. A washing machine is also at your disposal. A staircase leads up to a mezzanine, providing a bedroom for two people as well as another bedroom/office area for 1 person. The garden is a convivial space with its barbecue and comfortable furniture where you can while away the hours to the sound of the birds and cicadas.
